In
his spacious studio located in a former boiler
building at The Old Bag Factory, one can see
John Mishler working on his sculptures.
From pedastal pieces to large scale freestanding
sculptures, many are kinetic - having elements
that move gracefully in the wind through the
use of bearings. Much of his recent work
is in aluminum but he also works in stainless
steel, painted steel and wood. Commissions
are welcome.

In the wall sculptures Mishler combines different
metals, colors and textures such as copper,
aluminum and brass. Texture is a very
important part of these pieces and can be seen
in the use of diamond plate aluminum and the
brushings on the finished metals.

As in his sculptures, Misher gets inspiration
from recycled industrial materials. There
are many interesting shapes and textures that
can be found in industrial materials which are
incorporated into his tables and benches.

Mishler also has a web presence at www.johnmishler.com.
